Most small-business websites are built to look nice. Very few are built to book jobs. The difference is not the design, it is the structure.
One clear action per page
Every page should make one thing obvious: the next step. Book a call. Get a quote. Grab the free guide. When you give people five choices, they pick none. When you give them one, they take it.
Lead with the result, not the service
People do not want painting, or plumbing, or a website. They want the result: a finished room, a working system, more booked jobs. Say that first, in plain words, above the fold.
Proof, and a way to capture the lead
Real photos and a few honest words from past customers do more than any clever headline. And every page needs a simple way to capture the lead, so a visitor never has to hunt for how to reach you.
Get those three things right, and a website stops being decoration and starts being a salesperson that works around the clock.
